 OpenAI experienced a widespread technical outage that affected a massive number of users globally, as its ChatGPT, Codex, and Application Programming Interface (API) services suffered disruptions and elevated error rates. The technical failure resulted in users being unable to access certain services or experiencing abnormal response failures.

The disruptions coincided with a surge in user reports from several countries, including the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, citing severe difficulties in using ChatGPT, alongside functional issues with the Codex programming tool and other developer-oriented services.
