Mohammed bin Rashid Approves Establishment of Federal Authority for AI and Data in the UAE
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved the establishment of the Federal Authority for Artificial Intelligence and Data. The newly formed entity will serve as the unified national umbrella for managing data, artificial intelligence, and the digital government in the UAE, operating directly under the UAE Cabinet.
Announcing the decision via the "X" platform, His Highness stated: "We have approved the creation of the Federal Authority for AI and Data to be the unified national umbrella managing data, AI, and digital government in the UAE, reporting directly to the Cabinet."
His Highness added: "We have tasked Omar Sultan Al Olama to lead the new authority. Our objective is a more efficient, agile, and proactive government, leveraging technology to serve humanity and build a better future for coming generations."
He continued: "We remain committed to developing the government of the future—a government equipped with data-driven tools and assisted by artificial intelligence. This will ensure faster performance, swifter decision-making, an enhanced capacity to serve our people, and the development of premium opportunities and services."
