Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority DG at CAISEC 2026: Cybersecurity is Synonymous with Economic Stability and National Sovereignty
During his opening keynote at the Information Security and Cybersecurity Conference (CAISEC 2026), Divine Selase Agbeti, Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) in Ghana and Chair of the African Network of Cybersecurity Authorities (ANCA), emphasized that the rapid global acceleration of digital transformation has made cybersecurity directly synonymous with economic stability and national sovereignty.
Agbeti began his address by extending his appreciation to Osama Kamal and Mercury Communications, the organizers of CAISEC, commending the event's exceptional organization. He also praised the diverse participation of government representatives, ministries, and regional and international bodies in this prominent summit.
The Arab-African Cyber Alliance Addressing the evolving threat landscape, Agbeti clarified that cyber challenges can no longer be tackled in isolation. Effectively confronting these risks requires bolstered joint action and the building of collective capabilities for rapid response. He highlighted that CAISEC serves as a vital platform to support the Arab-African partnership, representing a shared commitment to building a more cohesive alliance between the two continents to forge a united front against escalating cyber threats.
ANCA's Commitment to Regional Resilience Speaking on behalf of ANCA, Agbeti underscored the network's commitment to developing robust mechanisms for information sharing, enhancing incident response capabilities, and supporting joint developmental initiatives. These efforts are designed to elevate the efficiency of cybersecurity governance across the region. He noted that the true success of this cooperation will be reflected in the summit's actionable outcomes and the activation of mechanisms that support national protection and build a stronger, more resilient digital infrastructure.
Human Capital and Future Readiness Concluding his remarks, the Director-General stressed that while cyber threats are global in nature, the ability to counter them fundamentally relies on investing in human capital and cementing international and regional partnerships. He called for the continued deepening of Arab-African cooperation in the cyber and digital domains, using CAISEC as a springboard to build an ecosystem fully prepared to mitigate the risks of the future.
