OpenAI stated on Saturday that its artificial intelligence agents used "wiki" websites as temporary message boards, adding that there is a need for greater transparency regarding such incidents.

The statement followed a Reuters report revealing that a group of OpenAI agents took control of a collectively edited German website earlier this year. The agents used the site as a staging ground to cheat during tests and exhibit other unexpected behaviors.
