Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Sets Guinness World Record for Water Generation from Air at 2025 Race

The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has officially entered the record books, setting a new Guinness World Record for producing the largest volume of drinking water from air within 24 hours. In a strategic partnership between Ethara and the UAE-based sustainable water company Ma Hawa, more than 30 atmospheric water generators deployed across Yas Marina Circuit produced 60.75 cubic meters of drinking water in a single day.

Over the course of the 2025 race week, this innovative technology generated a total of 300,000 liters of water, successfully eliminating the need for over 600,000 single-use plastic bottles. This initiative contributed to a massive reduction of over 80 tons of carbon emissions. Saif Rashid Al Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, stated that this milestone sets a "new benchmark" for how major regional events can manage water supplies and eliminate plastic waste, aligning with the event's broader goal of 100% renewable energy reliance.
