Maktoum bin Mohammed Directs Federal Tax Authority to Deploy Autonomous AI Models Within Two Years

Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has directed the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) to implement autonomous artificial intelligence (AI) models across its operations within the next two years, in a move aimed at accelerating digital transformation and enhancing government efficiency.

The directive comes as part of the UAE’s broader strategy to adopt advanced technologies in public sector services, reinforcing its ambition to position itself as a global leader in AI-driven governance and smart government solutions.

According to official statements, the deployment of autonomous AI models will support the automation of tax processes, improve compliance monitoring, and enable faster, data-driven decision-making. The initiative is also expected to enhance accuracy, reduce operational costs, and deliver more seamless services to businesses and taxpayers.

Maktoum bin Mohammed emphasized the importance of integrating cutting-edge technologies into government systems, highlighting AI as a key enabler of future-ready institutions. He noted that adopting self-executing AI models would significantly strengthen operational performance and improve the overall efficiency of tax administration.

The Federal Tax Authority will work on developing and implementing these models in line with global best practices, ensuring data security, governance standards, and transparency throughout the process.

The move reflects the UAE’s continued commitment to leveraging AI to transform government services, boost competitiveness, and support sustainable economic growth in the digital era.
