Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Health Explores Digital Transformation Collaboration with Epson at GITEX Global 2025

Dr. Mohamed El-Tayeb, Deputy Minister of Health and Population for Governance, Oversight, Follow-up, and Institutional Development, met with Neil Colquhoun, President for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Epson, and his accompanying delegation to discuss avenues of cooperation in supporting Egypt’s healthcare system with the latest printing and scanning technologies. The meeting took place on the sidelines of GITEX Global 2025, held in Dubai from October 13 to 17.

According to Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, the Deputy Minister reviewed a comprehensive presentation of Epson’s product portfolio, including live demonstrations of the company’s latest printers, scanners, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and display technologies. The discussions focused on Epson’s technological advancements, cost-efficiency, and commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.

Dr. Abdel Ghaffar added that the meeting also explored potential cooperation in organizing joint workshops and pilot programs to test new workflow models, as well as dedicated account management and technical support for the Ministry’s digital transformation initiatives. Epson proposed integrating its POS systems within various ministry departments to improve efficiency and service delivery.

The discussions centered on sustainable solutions, emphasizing energy efficiency, reduced power consumption, and environmentally friendly technologies that maintain high performance and quality standards.

Epson Middle East (EME) serves as the regional arm of Japan’s Seiko Epson Corporation, offering sales, technical support, and maintenance services across the Middle East and neighboring regions for its range of printers, scanners, and projection systems.

The meeting was attended by Eng. Amr Ayad, Assistant Minister for Information Technology and Digital Transformation; Eng. Mohamed Sami, Chairman of Asma Technology; Jason McMillan, Sales Director for the Middle East and Turkey at Epson; and Hossam Al-Zoghair, Head of Sales for the Middle East and Turkey.
