Egyptian Building Materials Sector Targets Regional Expansion at Big 5 Global 2026

Egyptian construction and building materials companies are preparing to engage with buyers, suppliers and project developers from across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia at Big 5 Global 2026, scheduled for November 23–26 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The exhibition comes as Egypt's infrastructure market is projected to record annual growth of 9.3% from 2027 to 2032, according to Mordor Intelligence. The expected expansion could create additional demand for products and services used in transportation and infrastructure development, offering Egyptian manufacturers opportunities to strengthen their regional presence.

A Global Marketplace for Construction Products

Big 5 Global 2026 is expected to bring together more than 1,800 exhibitors representing over 60 countries. Participants will present around 55,000 products, services, systems and specialized construction solutions, with international exhibitors making up more than 70% of the total.

Ahmed Abdel Fattah, Executive Director of the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractories and Metallurgical Industries, highlighted the strong economic and trade relationship between Egypt and the UAE.

He said the development of Egypt's construction and infrastructure sectors is creating new opportunities for domestic manufacturers to reach regional markets, increase exports and build direct relationships with buyers. The exhibition, he added, gives Egyptian companies a platform to demonstrate product quality, showcase industrial capabilities and explore participation in projects across the region.

Egyptian Companies Represent Diverse Industrial Capabilities

The Egyptian delegation, supported by the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractories and Metallurgical Industries, includes the Egyptian General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences, Arkan Plastic Industries, Red Sea Pipes, Smart Copper Industrial, Block Industries, Insutech and Rockal.

The participating companies represent several segments of the building materials industry, particularly pipes, insulation and related construction products.

They will join international manufacturers and suppliers including Liebherr, Bauer, Doosan, Zamil Steel, Anchor Allied, Astral, Dutco Tennant, Topwerk, MASA and RAKNOR, as well as companies from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, Egypt and other regional markets.

Seven Specialized Events Expand Industry Coverage

The exhibition's offering extends beyond traditional building materials to include mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, interior design and finishing, prefabricated construction, fire protection, safety solutions, infrastructure equipment and industrial construction products.

Seven specialized events will broaden the programme, focusing on heavy construction equipment, concrete, marble and stone, urban design and landscaping, HVACR, digital construction and geospatial technologies, and facilities management.

This broad industry coverage is intended to help project teams assess different suppliers and technologies, strengthen procurement options and identify solutions that can improve performance across the lifecycle of construction assets.

Digital Construction and Technology Adoption

Technology is becoming increasingly important in managing construction procurement and coordinating complex projects. Digital tools can support planning, improve information sharing and provide greater visibility over implementation.

The World of Digital Construction exhibition will feature companies such as Premier Construction Software, Nemetschek Group, Leica, RIB Software and DJI Drones, showcasing technologies relevant to project coordination and data-driven decision-making.

Sustainability Moves Higher on the Industry Agenda

The construction sector is also placing greater emphasis on resource efficiency, lower-carbon materials, waste reduction and improved building performance.

Through its Global Impact Trail, Big 5 Global will direct visitors to exhibitors offering products and technologies that support more sustainable construction practices. These include Natura Seal's VOC-free waterproofing membranes, Prime Middle East's refrigerant solutions with low global warming potential, and Dewan Equipment Trading's concrete recycling machinery.

Josine Heijmans, Senior Vice President at DMG Events, said the industry's future growth would depend on translating ambitious development plans into successful projects. She emphasized the importance of reliable supply chains, efficient execution, technology adoption, sustainable solutions and workforce development.

According to Heijmans, the exhibition brings these priorities together by connecting regional stakeholders with international suppliers and practical innovations, while creating opportunities for partnerships that can support more efficient project delivery and long-term value.
