Fifth-Generation 2027 Hyundai Tucson Officially Unveiled with Modern Design and Advanced Tech
Global Reveal & Exterior Design
Hyundai officially unveiled the all-new fifth generation of its best-selling SUV, the "2027 Tucson," in New York. The vehicle adopts the "Art of Steel" design philosophy, giving it a bolder presence with pronounced body lines and prominent side fenders, continuing the legacy of a model that has surpassed 11.1 million units in global sales since its 2004 launch.
Dimensions & Interior Cabin
The 2027 Tucson has grown in size: the long-wheelbase version now stretches 4.7 meters in length, 190.5 cm in width, and 168.5 cm in height, with a 278.5 cm wheelbase. Inside, the cabin offers roomier space with furniture-inspired details, a dual-level dashboard, a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, a 9.9-inch driver display, and physical buttons retained for climate and audio controls.
Engine Performance & Hybrid Powertrain
Powertrain options include 1.6-liter turbo and 2.0-liter gasoline engines, alongside a Plug-in Hybrid setup pairing a 1.6-liter turbo with an electric motor to generate a combined 292 hp. Equipped with a 17.1 kWh battery, it delivers an all-electric driving range of up to 81 km.
Technology & AI Integration
The Tucson features the Pleos Connect infotainment system powered by Android Automotive OS, supporting over-the-air (OTA) updates and gesture control. It also introduces the Gleo AI assistant for natural voice commands, along with off-road capabilities like Smart Terrain Assist and Target Speed Control.
Safety & Driver Assistance Systems
Safety upgrades feature a high-strength steel-reinforced chassis, the In-Cabin Monitoring Unit (ICMU) to track driver focus and fatigue, and rear-occupant alert systems. The driver-assist package includes navigation-based smart cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and emergency braking.
Market Launch Timeline
Rollout begins in South Korea by the end of this year, followed by launches in North America, Europe, and other global markets throughout 2027.
