Fawry is expanding beyond payment processing into the technology stack that runs merchants’ everyday operations, signing a strategic partnership with Congineer to integrate its digital payment infrastructure with Retail Pro and Odoo systems in Egypt.

The collaboration, led through Fawry Business, will connect sales management, point-of-sale operations, payment processing and selected financial functions within a more unified environment, reducing the need for merchants to operate separate systems for running stores and accepting payments.

The integration will allow businesses using Retail Pro through Congineer to process transactions using Fawry’s payment infrastructure while continuing to manage sales through their existing operating systems.

Retail Operations and Payments Come Together

Under the partnership, Retail Pro will connect through Congineer’s technology with Fawry’s POS and payment solutions.

Merchants will be able to process payments using either Congineer or Fawry POS devices, giving businesses more flexibility over how their retail infrastructure is configured.

The broader technology environment also incorporates Odoo solutions, bringing together several functions that would otherwise require merchants to move between different platforms.

The integrated offering is designed to:

Connect sales management, POS functions and payment processing within one ecosystemAutomate processes to reduce manual intervention and potential human errorsProvide clearer financial and operational reportingAccelerate everyday sales and payment workflowsGive businesses greater flexibility in managing employee payments

Fawry Business Adds Payroll to the Connected Ecosystem

The partnership extends beyond payments at checkout.

Businesses can also use the Fawry Business payroll portal to schedule and transfer employee payments through several channels, including bank accounts, e-wallets, myfawry yellowcard and cash vouchers.

Bringing these capabilities alongside retail management and payments reflects a wider shift in fintech, where payment providers are increasingly embedding financial services directly into the software businesses already use to manage their operations.

For merchants, the potential benefit is less fragmentation between the transaction taking place at the checkout and the financial and operational records generated behind it.

Congineer Brings Retail Pro and Odoo Into the Partnership

Congineer specializes in software and integrated technology solutions for retail and business operations and is an authorized Retail Pro partner in Egypt. It also provides Odoo solutions as part of its technology portfolio.

Nazmy Said, CEO of Congineer, said the company is building an integrated technology ecosystem that helps merchants manage operations more efficiently while adapting international platforms to the requirements of the Egyptian market.

“Our collaboration with Fawry represents an important step in this direction,” Said said, adding that connecting Congineer, Retail Pro and Fawry technologies would give customers more flexibility in payment acceptance while improving sales and business management.

Fawry Targets a More Integrated Merchant Experience

For Fawry, the partnership strengthens an increasingly important part of its business: providing companies with financial technology that extends beyond accepting individual transactions.

Bassem Lotfy, Head of Business Development at Fawry, said Fawry Business is expanding its portfolio through partnerships with specialized technology providers.

“Our collaboration with Congineer represents another step toward providing a more seamless experience for merchants and small and medium-sized business owners,” Lotfy said.

The companies plan to expand availability of the integrated solution across Egypt’s retail and business sectors while developing additional services combining business-management technology with fintech.

Fawry, founded in 2008, currently operates through a network of 36 member banks and more than 379,000 agents. The company says it processes more than six million transactions per day and serves an estimated monthly customer base of 55.4 million users.

The significance of the Congineer partnership therefore goes beyond adding another payment option to Retail Pro. It brings Fawry closer to the software layer where merchants manage sales, employees and financial information — turning payments from a standalone transaction into part of a broader connected business workflow.
