Egypt University of Informatics Wins Two Awards at 36th Youth Salon for Second Consecutive Year

Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) has secured two awards at the 36th edition of the Youth Salon, held under the theme “Personal Time” and organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The achievement marks the second consecutive year in which EUI’s Faculty of Digital Arts and Design has received recognition at the event.

One of the faculty’s teaching assistants received the Encouragement Award in painting for her artwork “Fate,” which combines oil painting with painted wooden elements to convey movement and continuous transformation.

Another teaching assistant won the Solo Exhibition Award for “The Search for Osiris,” an artwork inspired by a significant scene from ancient Egyptian mythology. The 2026 Youth Salon also featured “Faces of Daily Claim,” created by a third teaching assistant from the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design, alongside the two award-winning works.

The Solo Exhibition Award is presented by major cultural institutions and art competitions to recognize distinguished artistic talent. In addition to the financial prize, the award provides the winner with an opportunity to stage a dedicated exhibition, with the organizing body covering the associated costs.

The two award recipients were selected from 1,253 applicants, with 253 artists ultimately chosen to exhibit their work. The participating artworks covered a wide range of disciplines, including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, digital art, video art, performance, and interactive art.

The recognition of two teaching assistants, alongside the selection of a third faculty member to exhibit her work, represents an important milestone in their artistic careers and encourages them to pursue further creative projects.

The achievement also reflects EUI’s efforts to support faculty members and students in participating in artistic competitions and events in Egypt and abroad. Through such opportunities, students and young artists gain practical experience that complements their academic studies and helps strengthen their professional readiness for careers in the creative and visual arts sectors.
