EgyptAir has operated its inaugural direct flight from Cairo International Airport to the city of Zanzibar in Tanzania, as part of its strategic plan to expand its network across the African continent and connect Egypt with one of East Africa's most prominent tourist destinations.

Pilot Ahmed Adel, Chairman of the Holding Company for EgyptAir, stated that launching the new route aligns with the Egyptian state's directives to support and strengthen cooperation with African nations. He noted that the company has formulated ambitious plans to broaden its route network and reach new strategically important points within the continent.

He added that the expansion aims to provide customers with more travel options aboard state-of-the-art aircraft, alongside supporting bilateral tourism and investment flows and enhancing connectivity between Cairo and vital destinations in Africa and globally, thereby reinforcing EgyptAir's leading position in the Middle East and Africa.
