The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) participated in the local finals of Enactus Egypt for the 2025/2026 academic year. The prestigious event witnessed fierce competition among student teams from various Egyptian universities, all vying for the title of the winning team that will represent Egypt at the Global Enactus Competition.

The event was attended by a distinguished judging panel, which included Dina Abou Taleb, Head of the Marketing and Community Development Group at NBE, and Mohamed Awara, Head of Community Development at NBE, alongside numerous university representatives and strategic partners.

Empowering the Next Generation

The bank's participation aligns with its unwavering commitment to supporting and empowering youth, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, and backing the "Decent Work for Youth" initiative. Through this initiative, NBE implements two major projects aimed at the economic and social empowerment of Egyptian youth. These projects focus on developing their skills, enhancing their innovative and entrepreneurial capacities, and effectively preparing them for the labor market.

In this context, Dina Abou Taleb emphasized that the partnership with Enactus Egypt reflects the bank's core belief that youth are the fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development. She pointed out that NBE is dedicated to supporting initiatives that build youth capacities, equip them with practical skills, and encourage them to transform their ideas into enterprises with sustainable economic and social impacts.

Abou Taleb further added that the bank's backing of the "Decent Work for Youth" initiative falls under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy. This strategy prioritizes investing in human capital, empowering the younger generation, and creating a conducive environment to unleash their creative potential, thereby contributing directly to the achievement of sustainable development goals and the broader vision of the Egyptian state.

Dr. Fatma Sirry, CEO of Enactus Egypt, expressed her immense pride in the long-standing partnership with the National Bank of Egypt, describing it as a critical strategic partner in the journey of youth empowerment. She lauded NBE's pioneering role in supporting Egyptian youth and enabling them to turn their innovative concepts into projects with lasting economic and societal impacts.

Dr. Sirry noted that the bank's support reflects a genuine belief in the capabilities of the youth and a strong desire to invest in their potential, ultimately preparing a generation of entrepreneurs capable of leading a more prosperous future.

On his part, Mohamed Awara affirmed that NBE places great importance on supporting the entrepreneurship ecosystem, viewing it as a primary engine for economic growth and job creation. He highlighted that empowering youth to transform their innovative ideas into successful businesses remains a cornerstone of the bank's strategy to support the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) sector and local entrepreneurs.

Awara added that NBE's involvement in supporting Enactus Egypt programs stems from its firm belief in the importance of investing in young talents and promoting a culture of self-employment and innovation. This approach is vital for cultivating a generation of entrepreneurs equipped to compete on both local and international stages.

The highly anticipated event concluded with the finalist teams presenting their projects to the judging panel. The showcased projects demonstrated an outstanding level of innovation and a remarkable ability to provide practical solutions to pressing societal challenges. At the end of the ceremony, the winning team that will represent Egypt in the international arena was officially announced.
