Egypt Ranks Among Top 5 Countries in Legislative and Financial Oversight Leaps, Says Finance Ministry Advisor
Sara Eid, Advisor to the Minister of Finance for Budget Transparency and Community Participation, announced that Egypt has secured a position among the top five countries globally in achieving significant leaps in legislative and financial oversight indicators.
Speaking at the "Budget Transparency" forum, organized by DCode Consulting in coordination with the International Budget Partnership (IBP), Eid highlighted Egypt's recent global advancements in fiscal governance and citizen engagement.
Key Achievements in Fiscal Governance
According to the latest indicators, Egypt has recorded notable progress in key areas of public financial management:
Public Participation: Egypt ranks among the top six countries globally in enhancing local public participation rates, allowing citizens to play a more active role in drafting government plans and shaping decisions.
Oversight Indicators: The nation is among the top five countries worldwide in making substantial leaps regarding legislative and financial oversight metrics.
Eid emphasized that this remarkable improvement in the International Budget Partnership (IBP) indicators is the culmination of more than ten years of sustained efforts and structural reforms aimed at developing and modernizing Egypt's public finance sector.
