AM Best Affirms Misr Life Insurance Ratings at ”B++” with Stable Outlook for 9th Consecutive Year
Global credit rating agency AM Best has affirmed the Financial Strength Rating of B++ (Good) and the Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of "bbb" (Good) for Misr Life Insurance, Egypt’s largest provider of life insurance solutions. Additionally, AM Best affirmed the company’s Egypt National Scale Rating at "aaa.EG" (Exceptional). The outlook for all ratings remains Stable for the ninth consecutive year.
The rating affirmation reflects Misr Life Insurance's robust balance sheet strength, solid operational performance, disciplined enterprise risk management, and strategic role as the flagship life insurance entity within Misr Insurance Holding Company (MIHC).
Preparations for Upcoming IPO
The rating milestone comes at a pivotal juncture for Misr Life Insurance as it continues preparations for its anticipated Initial Public Offering (IPO). The agency's assessment underscores the firm's financial fundamentals and reinforces its national role in advancing Egypt's insurance and broader financial services sector.

According to AM Best, Misr Life Insurance maintained its risk-adjusted capitalization at the highest available assessment level through year-end 2025, supported by strong internal capital generation and prudent investment management across a diversified portfolio.
Market Share: Misr Life Insurance commands the largest market share in Egypt, accounting for approximately 30% of total net premiums.
Return on Equity (ROE): Recorded an estimated ROE of 28.7% in 2025.
Growth Drivers: Financial results were underpinned by expansion in the Contractual Service Margin (CSM) under Egyptian Accounting Standard No. 50 (EAS 50), alongside robust performance across its investment portfolio.
