Egyptian Pavilion Opens at Summer Fancy Food Show in New York with 30 Companies Participating

Ambassador Tamer El-Melegy, Consul General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in New York, and Minister Plenipotentiary Yahya El-Wathik Bellah, Head of the Commercial Representation Office in Washington, inaugurated the Egyptian pavilion at the Summer Fancy Food Show. Recognized as one of the premier global exhibitions dedicated to high-value food and beverage products in the US market, this year's pavilion features the participation of 30 Egyptian companies.

The Egyptian pavilion was jointly organized by the Egypt Expo & Convention Authority (EECA) and the Food Export Council (FEC). This participation aligns with ongoing state efforts to enhance the access of Egyptian products to global markets, with the United States at the forefront.

During their tour of the pavilion, Ambassador El-Melegy and Minister Plenipotentiary El-Wathik Bellah visited the booths of the participating companies. They commended the exceptional standard of the exhibitors and the remarkable evolution in the quality of Egyptian food industries, highlighting their ability to compete in one of the most demanding global markets.

The officials emphasized that Egypt's participation in the exhibition serves as a vital platform for promoting national products to major US importers, distributors, and retail chains. They noted that the Egyptian companies' strict adherence to food safety and quality standards, coupled with advancements in packaging, significantly bolsters their prospects for expansion and export growth in international markets.

This participation comes at a time when the US market is witnessing accelerated growth in the import of Egyptian food products. Sector exports to the United States surged to approximately $438 million in 2025, compared to $322 million in 2024. This impressive 36% growth rate positions the US as the second-largest importing market for Egyptian food industries, according to FEC data.

Furthermore, the data revealed that 347 Egyptian companies exported their products to the US market in 2025. This reflects a broadening base of companies capable of meeting the stringent requirements of this market, thereby enhancing the sector's international competitiveness.

The primary Egyptian products exported to the United States are highly diverse, encompassing frozen vegetables, frozen strawberries, processed and preserved olives, yeast, frozen potatoes, juices, pasta, tahini, and halawa. This highlights the diversity of Egypt’s export basket and its capacity to cater to the needs of various consumer segments and importers.

Participation in the Summer Fancy Food Show is expected to expand the commercial networks of Egyptian companies within the US market and unlock new export opportunities for value-added products. Ultimately, this supports the national strategy to boost exports and cement the global standing of Egypt's food industries.
