US Spot Bitcoin ETFs End 7-Day Inflow Streak with $465 Million Outflows Amid Fed Rate Concerns
U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have ended a seven-session streak of consecutive positive inflows, recording substantial capital withdrawals late last week as institutional investors adopt a cautious posture ahead of potential U.S. monetary policy tightening.
U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin funds registered total net outflows exceeding $465 million across July 23 and July 24, halting the influx of capital that had driven the cryptocurrency's recent price recovery.
Fed Policy Hesitation Outweighs Regulatory Optimism
The sudden reversal reflects growing market anxiety that the Federal Reserve may keep interest rates elevated for longer. This macroeconomic pressure overshadowed political momentum surrounding the proposed "Clarity Act," a legislative initiative aimed at establishing a defined regulatory framework for digital assets in the United States.
Geopolitical Easing Boosts Risk Appetite
Despite the ETF outflows, Bitcoin regained ground during early Asian trading sessions, climbing over 1.4% to surpass the $65,000 mark. The rebound mirrored a wider uptick in risk-on assets after the U.S. and Iran announced an extension to their mutual strike suspension, alleviating immediate fears of global energy disruptions and encouraging market sentiment.
