US Bitcoin Spot ETFs Record Second Consecutive Week of Inflows as Investor Confidence Returns
Spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States have witnessed a robust return of investments, recording net inflows for the second consecutive week. This shift reflects improving investor sentiment, breaking a nearly two-month streak of capital withdrawals and market outflows.
Flow Dynamics and Geopolitical Pressures
The 13 US-based Bitcoin ETFs attracted $75.7 million in new inflows last week, building on the $197.4 million recorded during the previous week. Notably, these gains materialized despite the funds suffering heavy initial withdrawals of $424.7 million earlier in the week. Those early sell-offs were triggered by escalating market anxieties surrounding renewed military tensions between the United States and Iran, before digital assets ultimately regained their appeal.
The resumption of positive flows indicates a gradual restoration of trust in the cryptocurrency market. Analysts suggest Bitcoin may be entering a phase of price stability following severe volatility, demonstrating resilience above key support levels. Positive inflows into Ethereum ETFs have further supported indicators of recovering investor appetite.
Market Trends and Regulatory Outlook
Bitcoin has rebounded to trade above the $63,000 mark, hovering near its 200-week moving average—a critical technical indicator used by investors to gauge long-term market direction. In recent weeks, the world's largest cryptocurrency has traded within a tight range of $60,000 to $65,000. This cautious trading environment reflects global economic uncertainties, expectations regarding US interest rate trajectories, and broader geopolitical pressures on high-risk assets.
Analysts warn that persistently high US interest rates could continue to pressure the crypto market by discouraging exposure to risk-on assets. However, the market is closely watching for new US legislation to regulate the crypto sector. Clearer legal frameworks are widely expected to serve as a major catalyst for broader institutional adoption.
Corporate Sell-Offs and Ongoing Challenges
Despite the recent ETF recovery, Bitcoin remains significantly below its historical peak of approximately $126,000 recorded last October. The digital currency has dropped roughly 10% since early June amid heavy selling pressure and broad market fluctuations.
Adding to market headwinds, the publicly listed company "Strategy"—one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin—recently sold a portion of its crypto assets for the first time since 2022. The company later executed an additional massive sale worth $216 million, its largest in years compared to a previous $2.5 million offload. While this sparked concerns about institutional market influence, the returning ETF inflows suggest retail and institutional investors are beginning to confidently test the market waters once again.
