UAE Reaffirms Commitment to Global AI Cooperation at 2nd Pax Silica Summit in Washington
The United Arab Emirates participated in the second edition of the Pax Silica Summit, hosted in Washington, D.C., reaffirming its commitment to supporting a trusted global artificial intelligence ecosystem and bolstering secure supply chains and robust digital infrastructure.
The UAE delegation was led by His Excellency Saeed Al Hajri, Minister of State, and included Omran Sharaf, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Advanced Science and Technology. The delegation also featured representatives from national technology champions G42, Core42, and MGX, alongside the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA).
During the summit, the UAE joined 35 other nations in endorsing the Joint Statement on AI Opportunities. This move reflects the nation's unwavering dedication to contributing to an innovation-driven global framework characterized by reliable supply chains and resilient infrastructure, thereby fostering the responsible use of AI technologies.
The Emirati delegation conducted a series of bilateral meetings with the United States and several Pax Silica member states, including Qatar, India, Finland, South Korea, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Norway, the Philippines, Costa Rica, the European Union, and Israel. These discussions focused on exploring avenues for cooperation and expanding strategic partnerships within the AI sector.
Saeed Al Hajri emphasized that the strategic partnership between the UAE and the United States is anchored in a shared vision for the future. He noted that the Pax Silica initiative serves as a practical framework to translate this collaboration into joint investments and projects that build trust and drive the development of a global AI ecosystem.
The UAE continues to amplify its international footprint in the artificial intelligence sector by broadening its collaborative networks with global partners. This proactive approach aims to develop responsible technologies that champion innovation while achieving sustainable economic and developmental benefits.
