Kerno Enterprises Opens UAE’s First Enterprise IT Hardware Factory in Dubai Silicon Oasis

Kerno Enterprises has officially opened its headquarters and first manufacturing facility in Dubai Silicon Oasis, marking the launch of what the company described as the UAE’s first plant dedicated to enterprise information technology hardware.

The facility was inaugurated in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), who toured the production lines and reviewed the plant’s assembly, testing, and quality assurance operations.

The new site will design, develop, and manufacture a range of advanced technology products in the UAE, including artificial intelligence servers, high-performance computing systems, enterprise servers, edge computing platforms, and mission-critical storage solutions.

With an annual production capacity exceeding 60,000 technology products, the facility is expected to support the UAE’s efforts to strengthen technological sovereignty, localize advanced industries, and develop digital infrastructure capable of meeting the growing demands of artificial intelligence and the digital economy.

Sheikh Ahmed said the launch represents a significant addition to Dubai’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem and reflects the emirate’s continued focus on attracting high-value technology and knowledge-based investments.

He added that advanced technology manufacturing plays an important role in building the economy of the future, strengthening digital readiness, and supporting economic diversification in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

The opening also reflects Dubai Silicon Oasis’s role as a specialized hub for technology, innovation, and knowledge-driven companies operating under the umbrella of DIEZ.

Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, said the facility supports the country’s strategy to build a more diverse and competitive economy based on innovation and advanced technology.

He noted that manufacturing high-performance technology solutions locally would help increase the value of national exports and create wider opportunities for international partnerships.

Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ, said Kerno Enterprises’ presence in Dubai Silicon Oasis strengthens the emirate’s technology business community and supports the development of secure digital infrastructure and enterprise IT manufacturing capabilities.

He added that the new facility demonstrates DIEZ’s ability to attract specialized investments in future-focused sectors while providing companies with an integrated environment for growth, expansion, and access to regional and global markets.

Christopher Caswell, Co-Founder and CEO of Kerno Enterprises, described the opening as a major milestone in the company’s development and a confirmation of its commitment to manufacturing advanced technology products in the UAE.

He said the company aims to meet rising demand for sovereign high-performance computing and artificial intelligence solutions designed and produced locally.

The facility’s product portfolio includes high-performance AI servers, general-purpose enterprise servers, edge computing systems, locally developed x86 platforms, and storage systems designed for sensitive and mission-critical workloads.

Kerno selected Dubai Silicon Oasis for the project due to its infrastructure, technology ecosystem, access to technical talent, and network of strategic partners, according to the company.

The development is expected to support Dubai’s position as a regional center for advanced technology manufacturing while contributing to the UAE’s broader goals of strengthening digital sovereignty and expanding knowledge-based industrial activity.
