US Dollar Faces Broad Decline Against Egyptian Pound; ADCB Records Lowest Rate at EGP 52.06

The US Dollar (USD) experienced a broad-based decline against the Egyptian Pound (EGP) during Monday’s trading session, June 1, 2026. The downturn was visible across the majority of commercial banks operating within the local Egyptian banking sector, tracking a clear drop in both buy and sell quotes compared to the close of the last session, while rates held steady in a limited number of institutions.

Lowest Trading Brackets across Commercial Banks Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) posted the lowest exchange rate for the US Dollar in the Egyptian interbank market, clearing at EGP 52.06 for buying and EGP 52.16 for selling, representing a 0.230% drop for both rates over the last 24 hours. Emirates NBD followed closely within the lower tier, quoting the USD at EGP 52.07 for buying and EGP 52.17 for selling, a decline of 0.115%. Concurrently, a wider cluster of banks—including Housing and Development Bank (HDB), Egyptian Gulf Bank (EG Bank), Industrial Development Bank (IDB), Arab African International Bank (AAIB), Al Baraka Bank, and First Abu Dhabi Bank Egypt (FAB Egypt)—settled at EGP 52.10 for buying and EGP 52.20 for selling, reflecting downward shifts ranging between 0.192% and 0.325%.

Arab African International Bank (AAIB) and Bank of Alexandria posted their sheets at EGP 52.11 for buying and EGP 52.21 for selling, shedding 0.230% and 0.038% respectively. In the middle tier, The United Bank, Commercial International Bank (CIB), and National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) pegged the greenback at EGP 52.12 for buying and EGP 52.22 for selling, down between 0.057% and 0.211%. Similarly, Crédit Agricole and HSBC saw the dollar ease to EGP 52.13 for buying and EGP 52.23 for selling, down by 0.191% and 0.096% respectively.

State-Owned Giants and Peak Market Rates Egypt’s leading state-owned lenders, the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Banque Misr, alongside the Arab International Bank (AIB), stabilized their quotes at EGP 52.14 for buying and EGP 52.24 for selling, a uniform slide of 0.172%, while Faisal Islamic Bank matched those exact figures with a minor dip of 0.019%. Societe Arabe Internationale de Banque (saib) posted EGP 52.15 for buying and EGP 52.25 for selling (down 0.249%), whereas Kuwait Finance House (KFH) recorded EGP 52.16 for buying and EGP 52.26 for selling, losing 0.077%. Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) also dropped 0.172% over the last 24 hours, landing at EGP 52.20 for buying and EGP 52.30 for selling.

Conversely, exchange rates remained unchanged in bank iNXT, MIDBANK, and Suez Canal Bank, anchoring at EGP 52.23 for buying and EGP 52.33 for selling. The absolute ceiling for the greenback was recorded at Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK), where it reached EGP 52.25 for buying and EGP 52.35 for selling; while its buy rate held firm, its sell rate registered a minor increase of 0.116% during the last 24 hours of trading.
