The United Arab Emirates and Lebanon are moving to expand bilateral economic and trade cooperation by fostering stronger connections between their business communities and supporting cross-border investments and corporate partnerships.

Abdullah bin Sultan Al Owais, Vice Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that advancing the UAE-Lebanese economic partnership will unlock new avenues for the private sector and drive trade and investment growth, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

Al Owais made these remarks during his participation in the UAE-Lebanese Business Forum held in Beirut, as part of an official UAE economic delegation. The delegation featured prominent business leaders, including:

Waleed Bukhatir: Second Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al Awadi: Director-General of the Sharjah Chamber.

Abdulaziz Al Shamsi: Assistant Director-General for the Communication and Business Sector.

Joint UAE-Lebanese Business Council

During the forum, Al Owais, representing the Federation of UAE Chambers, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Lebanese counterpart to officially establish the Joint UAE-Lebanese Business Council. The MoU was co-signed by Mohamed Choucair, Head of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon.

The newly formed council is designed to provide an institutional framework that will strengthen direct relations between the private sectors of both nations. It also aims to facilitate the exchange of market information and industry expertise while highlighting emerging commercial and investment opportunities.
