Banque Misr Allocates EGP 181 Million to Support Oncology and Bone Marrow Units at Ain Shams University Hospitals

 Banque Misr has signed two cooperation protocols with Ain Shams University Hospitals to continue supporting the Ain Shams Integrated Medical City project through funding totaling approximately EGP 181 million.

The agreements were signed by Hisham Okasha, CEO of Banque Misr, and Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, in the presence of senior executives from both institutions.

Under the first protocol, Banque Misr will provide EGP 165 million to support the construction and development of outpatient clinics and radiotherapy facilities within the Oncology Complex at Ain Shams University Hospitals. The project includes expanding radiotherapy services, increasing outpatient consultation rooms from three to ten, adding 20 chemotherapy treatment capsules, and establishing a dedicated internal radiotherapy operating suite.

The second protocol allocates EGP 15.9 million for the modernization and enhancement of the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit to ensure the continuity of high-quality medical services for patients.

The bank also highlighted its previous contribution of approximately EGP 153 million toward the development of the first and second phases of the integrated intensive care wing, including capacity expansion and medical.

Hisham Okasha stated that supporting the healthcare sector remains a core pillar of Banque Misr’s corporate social responsibility strategy, emphasizing the importance of improving access to high-quality healthcare services and supporting Egypt’s Vision 2030 sustainable development goals.

For his part, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen praised the partnership, noting that the support will significantly strengthen the hospitals’ capabilities in specialized treatments such as oncology and bone marrow transplantation, while also enhancing education and medical research infrastructure.

Banque Misr reaffirmed its commitment to social development initiatives, noting that it allocated approximately EGP 1.5 billion in 2025 to support developmental and community-focused activities across Egypt.
