Nothing Challenges Meta’s Wearable Dominance with AI Smart Glasses Slated for 2027 Launch
Nothing, the London-based consumer tech pioneer, is preparing to disrupt the wearables market with its first AI-powered smart glasses, expected to debut in the first half of 2027. According to a recent Bloomberg report, CEO Carl Pei has shifted the company’s focus toward a multi-device ecosystem, aiming to position the new eyewear as a direct competitor to the popular Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.
Unlike bulky AR headsets, Nothing’s glasses will reportedly feature a screenless design, utilizing built-in cameras, microphones, and speakers. The device will offload heavy AI processing to a paired smartphone or the cloud, ensuring a lightweight and stylish form factor. This move follows the success of the Nothing Phone (4a) and aligns with the company’s broader strategy to integrate AI across its product line, including new AI-focused earbuds launching later this year.
