Samsung Introduces “Plex” AI Assistant for Galaxy Devices to Enhance Daily User Experience
Samsung announced the development of its AI experience on Galaxy devices with the introduction of a new assistant named “Plex” within the Galaxy AI ecosystem, set to become a core feature in upcoming flagship Galaxy devices.
The new assistant aims to simplify users’ daily interactions by providing fast, intelligent support in managing a variety of tasks. Plex can be accessed via the voice command “Hey Plex” or through quick-access methods, such as a long press on the side button, ensuring contextual assistance whenever the user needs it.
Plex is designed to handle multi-step tasks and seamlessly switch between different apps, whether Samsung’s native apps or supported third-party applications, without requiring the user to manage each app individually.
Deep integration with Samsung’s core Galaxy apps—such as Gallery, Notes, Calendar, and Clock—enhances daily usability. Internal data indicates that around 80% of Galaxy users rely on more than one AI assistant in their digital lives, motivating Samsung to develop Plex to deliver a smarter and smoother user experience.
The announcement comes ahead of the launch of the Galaxy S26 series, although Samsung has not yet specified which devices will fully support Plex. The company emphasizes that the integration between the new assistant and core Galaxy apps will cover approximately 40% of users’ daily tasks, highlighting Samsung’s commitment to strengthening the AI experience on its flagship devices.
This update reflects Samsung’s vision of simplifying digital life by increasingly embedding AI into the Galaxy ecosystem in a seamless and continuous manner.
