Samsung’s Upcoming Tri-Fold Smartphone May Cost Less Than Expected

Samsung’s long-rumored tri-fold smartphone — unofficially referred to as the Galaxy Tri-fold — may launch before the end of the year at a price point lower than earlier leaks had suggested, according to new reports emerging from South Korea.

Fresh Korean leaks claim that Samsung is preparing to release the device in its home market for around 3.6 million won, roughly $2,446, a noticeable drop from previous estimates that placed the price closer to 4 million won (about $2,718). The information was shared by a Korean tech blogger, who said the pricing appeared in an “internal sales channel notice,” though no further details were provided.

Even with the lower figure, the tri-fold model would remain significantly more expensive than Samsung’s premium foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which sells for approximately $1,616 in South Korea. Still, analysts suggest that a price under the $3,000 mark could make the ambitious tri-fold concept more appealing to early adopters.

Large Displays and Flagship-Level Hardware

According to the latest leaks, Samsung’s tri-fold device will feature:

A 10-inch dual-folding internal display

A 6.5-inch external cover screen

The new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor

A 5,600mAh battery

The camera setup is also expected to mirror that of the Z Fold 7, offering a:

200MP main camera

12MP ultra-wide lens

10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom

If the reported pricing holds true, Samsung’s tri-fold smartphone could enter the market as one of the most advanced — yet comparatively more accessible — multi-fold devices to date, potentially setting a new benchmark in the foldable category ahead of its official unveiling later this year.
