Samsung to Launch New Galaxy Watch Ultra in 2026 to Compete with Apple Watch Ultra

Samsung is developing a new generation of premium smartwatches under the name «Galaxy Watch Ultra», marking a strategic move to strengthen its position in the high-end wearable segment and directly compete with the «Apple Watch Ultra».

Internally codenamed «Galaxy Watch 9 Ultra», the highly anticipated device is expected to hit global markets in 2026, potentially alongside the next generation of Samsung’s foldable smartphones.

The upcoming model is considered an evolution of Samsung’s previous Ultra edition, which increases the likelihood that it will be commercially released as the «Galaxy Watch Ultra 2». The new version is expected to offer a more durable design and upgraded features compared to the first-generation Ultra.

Key enhancements anticipated for the Galaxy Watch Ultra include a larger display, an improved battery capable of handling intensive daily use, and a premium titanium body. The smartwatch is also expected to support direct cellular connectivity, making it a compelling choice for outdoor athletes, extreme-sports users, and active professionals.

Alongside other forthcoming models in the Galaxy Watch lineup, Samsung’s new Ultra device will be powered by a more efficient processor designed to boost overall performance, prolong battery endurance, and expand the smartwatch’s fitness and health tracking capabilities.

If officially released in the second half of 2026, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is expected to enter a direct rivalry with the next-generation «Apple Watch Ultra», signaling intensified competition between leading technology giants in the rapidly growing wearable device market.
