Alibaba Group has launched an advanced artificial intelligence model named “RynnBrain”, designed to enable robots and smart devices to perform real-world tasks with high efficiency. This move strengthens Alibaba’s position as a leader in embodied AI technologies.

“RynnBrain” is an open-source AI model capable of interacting with its environment, understanding space and time, mapping objects, predicting trajectories, and navigating crowded environments such as kitchens or factory assembly lines.

Alibaba highlighted that “RynnBrain” demonstrates superior performance compared to global competitors, including Google’s Gemini Robotics-ER 1.5 and Cosmos-Reason2. The model was trained using Alibaba’s Qwen3-VL vision-language system and is available in multiple versions on Hugging Face and GitHub, ranging from small billion-parameter models to advanced expert-mixture configurations.

The launch aligns with China’s broader strategy to lead in embodied AI and emphasizes the development of humanoid robots for manufacturing and service industries. By adopting an open-source approach, Alibaba encourages global research collaboration and innovation, challenging the more closed AI ecosystems of U.S. tech giants.
