Egypt to Launch 9 Commercial Registry Services Exclusively on the «Digital Egypt» Platform from January 2026

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade announced that nine commercial registry services will be provided exclusively through the national «Digital Egypt» platform, effective January 1, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to accelerate Egypt’s digital transformation agenda.

The services to be offered exclusively online include updating commercial registry data, adding establishments not listed under the «Sherkati» system, commercial registry inquiries, verification of registry entries, transferring sole proprietorships within the same governorate, issuing certified commercial registry extracts, commercial registry data certificates, requests for extracts to be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and applications for negative certificates.

H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated that restricting these nine commercial registry services to the «Digital Egypt» platform, in cooperation with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, aligns with the government’s commitment to facilitating citizens’ access to public services. He emphasized that expanding exclusive digital services and increasing reliance on online channels directly supports the implementation of the Digital Egypt strategy and advances nationwide digital transformation goals.

Dr. Talaat noted that the «Digital Egypt» platform continues to record steady growth in both service offerings and user adoption. The platform currently provides 210 digital government services and serves approximately 10.7 million registered users nationwide.

H.E. Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, affirmed that digital transformation represents a core pillar of the ministry’s work plan and receives strong attention across all affiliated entities. This focus reflects the state’s broader direction toward digitizing government services, enhancing transparency, and simplifying access for citizens and merchants alike.

Dr. Farouk added that the ministry is working closely with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to implement the national digital transformation strategy, ensuring the delivery of modern, efficient services that reduce time and effort while meeting the evolving needs of citizens and investors.

Within this framework, the Internal Trade Development Authority has undertaken extensive efforts to digitize and modernize commercial registry services. More than 100 commercial registry offices nationwide have been upgraded and automated to deliver services in an organized and efficient manner, alongside expanding service availability through digital channels.

As part of the broader expansion of commercial registry digitization and in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, a wide range of registry services has been made available on the «Digital Egypt» platform, enabling citizens and traders to complete transactions electronically.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Awad, Chairman of the Internal Trade Development Authority, confirmed that the authority continues to implement directives issued by the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade and remains aligned with the ministry’s digital transformation strategy across all files. He noted that the development and automation of commercial registry services are being carried out in continuous coordination with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and relevant stakeholders, contributing to improved service quality for both traders and citizens.

Dr. Awad explained that the platform currently offers 17 core commercial registry services in addition to four supporting services. He added that a second phase is nearing completion and will include eight additional services to be offered exclusively through the «Digital Egypt» platform by the end of January 2026.

Meanwhile, Eng. Mahmoud Badawy, Assistant Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Digital Transformation, stated that commercial registry services on the «Digital Egypt» platform have seen strong demand, with an average of approximately 5,000 daily service requests for commercial registry transactions alone.
