DHL Express and ”Yanmo Logistics” sign an agreement to establish the largest distribution center in the logistics area in East Cairo

DHL Express, the world's leading company in logistics and fast shipping, signed a cooperation agreement with Yanmo Logistics Company, one of the Hassan Allam Group companies, to establish a new DHL distribution center in the logistics area east of Cairo on the Suez Road (ECLP). This project comes as part of DHL's strategy to expand its infrastructure and operational operations in Egypt, where investments of 24 million euros have been allocated for this project.

The signing ceremony was held at Hassan Allam Group's headquarters, in the presence of senior executives of both companies, headed by Mr. Abdulaziz Bossbit, CEO of DHL Express Middle East and North Africa, Mr. Osama Ibrahim, General Manager of DHL Express Egypt, Mr. Hisham Nadi, General Manager of Operations for DHL Express Egypt, in addition to Ms. Dalia Wahba, CEO of Hassan Allam Utilities, and Mr. Karim Hefzy, Chief Operating Officer at Hassan Allam Utilities.

The new center is built on a construction area of 11,000 square meters, while the total area is 13,000 square meters, and includes service areas and parking. This center is expected to become the largest logistics facility in Egypt equipped with the highest international safety standards (TAPA A). The space will allow the space to double the operational capacity by increasing the absorption of a larger number of DHL vehicles, which will contribute to enabling delegates to provide faster service to customers during pick-up and delivery operations, supporting its future plans to achieve a growth in its business volume of up to 27% by 2035.

This project also represents a central starting point for DHL's plans to consolidate its regional presence and accelerate its expansion in the Middle East and Africa markets, taking advantage of Egypt's location as a regional and strategic center that represents a gateway to all countries of the region. Through the distribution center, the company will be able to upgrade the efficiency of its cross-border operating network (Transit), enhancing its role as a key player in connecting the Middle East and Africa with global markets.

The new distribution center is strategically located near the ring road and Suez Road, which will contribute to increasing the accuracy of delivery dates and raising the efficiency of logistics operations for our customers.

On the other hand, DHL will expand its customs clearance facility at the headquarters at Cairo Airport, with additional investments to integrate a range of systems and automation solutions for cargo management in order to improve the speed and efficiency of the flow of incoming and outgoing shipments and raise the efficiency of work.

Mr. Abdulaziz Bosbit, CEO of DHL Express Middle East and North Africa, said: “The opening of the new headquarters represents a strategic step in line with the growing growth of business in Egypt, and confirms our commitment to innovation and quality in providing pioneering logistics services in Egypt and the world. We are constantly developing our infrastructure and promoting digital transformation in our technologies and operational equipment to deliver a premium experience to our customers. This project reflects our confidence in the strength of the local economy and its growing role as a pivotal center for trade and logistics in the region.”

For his part, Mr. Karim Hefzy, Chief Operating Officer at Hassan Allam Facilities Company, said: “We are pleased to cooperate with DHL in the establishment of this new and advanced facility, in support of its expansion plans in Egypt. We are committed to establishing a high-quality logistics architecture for the best operational performance. At the same time, this project reflects our ability to provide advanced logistics solutions that meet the needs of the market and support business growth, which confirms our commitment to the development of the logistics sector in Egypt.”

It is worth mentioning that DHL Express is committed to expanding its business in Egypt in order to meet the evolving needs of trade and trading, and enhance the efficiency of supply chains in the local market. This project is one of the most important steps of the company in its strategic expansion plans, as it contributes to the development of the national logistics infrastructure, supports economic growth, and provides wider opportunities for companies and individuals to benefit from integrated and advanced logistics services.
