CEO Ahmed Refaat: “Egypt is poised to become a regional hub for technology and telecommunications industries
Driven by national responsibility and a vision to localize advanced technology industries, ECCA Group, a leading Egyptian company specializing in IT, networks, cybersecurity, solar energy, and digital transformation, has announced the launch of its new project to locally manufacture telecom and ICT components.

The company has completed the purchase of land in the Alexandria Desert Road industrial zone and is now finalizing the required permits to establish its first production facility — a major step toward reducing import dependency and attracting global technology investment to the Egyptian market.
A Vision Born from Challenge
Speaking exclusively to [Your News Site Name], Eng. Ahmed Refaat, CEO of ECCA Group, revealed that the factory will produce components that were previously 100% imported, noting that certain parts costing USD 2,000 to import can now be manufactured locally for less than EGP 500.
“This transformation will significantly reduce costs, save foreign currency, and support Egypt’s strategy for technology localization,” Refaat said.

ECCA’s Growth and Achievements
Founded in 2021 as an Egyptian joint-stock company, ECCA Group has built a strong presence in the local technology landscape, offering integrated solutions across IT infrastructure, renewable energy, cybersecurity, telecom towers, microwave systems, and smart cabinet installations.
Refaat highlighted that the company achieved USD 3 million in profits in 2025, reflecting growing confidence in the local market and the capabilities of Egyptian engineers.
Three-Pillar Expansion Strategy
ECCA’s upcoming strategy focuses on three key pillars:
1. Expanding operations in Egypt and scaling its business volume.
2. Enhancing collaboration with government entities, telecom operators such as Telecom Egypt and Orange, and major universities.
3. Strengthening local supply chains and transferring advanced global technologies into the Egyptian market.
“Our mission is to create local value through manufacturing, generate jobs, and contribute to Egypt’s technological self-sufficiency,” Refaat added.
Turning the Dollar Crisis into an Opportunity
Commenting on Egypt’s foreign currency challenges, Refaat explained that the crisis served as a turning point for ECCA’s manufacturing ambitions.
“During the dollar shortage, we began producing some components for well-known Asian companies operating in Egypt — and delivered them successfully with payment in dollars,” he said. “That experience inspired us to build a full-scale factory to meet local demand with affordable, high-quality Egyptian-made products.”
Expanding Beyond Borders
ECCA’s regional expansion began with the launch of its Riyadh branch in 2023, marking the company’s entry into the Saudi Arabian market. “Our goal is to implement advanced technology projects in Saudi Arabia and strengthen regional partnerships,” Refaat noted.

Egyptian Talent Driving Innovation
Refaat praised the exceptional skill of Egyptian engineers, emphasizing their contribution to global projects:
“Many international firms sell technology for $10 and charge $100 for its operation — often relying on Egyptian engineers to execute it,” he said. “We can deliver the same quality using local talent for a fraction of the cost, while ensuring the benefits stay within Egypt.”
He added that ECCA invests heavily in training and empowering young engineers, many of whom have gone on to lead positions in top Egyptian and global firms.
Looking Ahead: Egypt as a Regional Technology Hub
ECCA Group plans to expand aggressively in both Egypt and Saudi Arabia, increase employment, and provide enhanced social and health benefits for its staff.
“The next phase will focus on establishing our telecom and ICT manufacturing facility, localizing global technology expertise, and reinforcing Egypt’s role as a regional production center,” Refaat affirmed.
Expressing strong optimism, he concluded: “We believe in Egypt’s potential to become a regional hub for technology and telecommunications. Our goal is to see products proudly labeled ‘Made in Egypt’ exported to the world — powered by Egyptian minds, determination, and a clear roadmap for success.”
