Ehab Said: Hosting the G20 Summit in Egypt Strengthens Economic Position and Opens Doors for Global Cooperation

Egypt’s hosting of the G20 Summit for the first time in its history marks a milestone in the country’s economic and political trajectory, underscoring its growing role on the international stage. The summit, which kicked off today in the New Administrative Capital under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, brings together the world’s leading economies for three days of dialogue and collaboration.

Ehab Said, Chairman of the Telecom, Financial Services, and Digital Payments Division at the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, hailed the event as a testament to Egypt’s progress in building a modern, balanced economy capable of adapting to global changes.

“Hosting the G20 Summit reflects international confidence in Egypt’s ability to organize world-class events of this scale,” Said noted, adding that it positions the country as a regional hub for economic affairs and investment.

Investment Opportunities in ICT

Said highlighted that the summit offers a unique opportunity to showcase Egypt’s advances in digital transformation, pointing to the nation’s robust technological infrastructure, significant investments in digitization projects, and highly skilled workforce.

He emphasized that the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector stands to benefit greatly from the summit, with expectations that it will boost the sector’s contribution to GDP and attract new streams of foreign investment. “This is an ideal platform to promote Egypt’s competitive edge in digital services and open new channels of cooperation with major economies in advanced technologies,” he said.

A Global Platform for Egypt’s Success Stories

The summit comes at a time when international institutions are reporting tangible progress in the Egyptian economy. According to Said, this makes the event a powerful platform for promoting investment opportunities in priority sectors such as telecommunications, technology, and energy.

He stressed that the G20 Summit provides Egypt with a global stage to communicate directly with multinational corporations and economic institutions, paving the way for strategic partnerships in innovation and cutting-edge technologies.

A Turning Point in Global Presence

Concluding his remarks, Said described the G20 Summit as a “turning point” for Egypt—not only in strengthening its economic standing but also in cementing its presence in international forums. “This historic event demonstrates Egypt’s readiness to host major global gatherings and reinforces its role as a gateway for international investors to access African markets,” he affirmed.
