SmartPay Strengthens Egypt’s Digital Transformation with Innovative Payment Solutions for Individuals, Businesses, and Financial Institutions

SmartPay (SMARTPAY), one of Egypt’s leading digital payment and fintech solution providers, has announced ambitious expansion plans through local and international financing partnerships starting in 2026. The move comes after the company successfully built a comprehensive in-house technology infrastructure, enabling it to deliver an integrated suite of digital payment services for individuals, businesses, and financial institutions across the country.

The announcement reflects the strong growth of Egypt’s fintech and electronic payments sector, supported by initiatives from the Supreme Council of Payments and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE). Since its establishment in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and its official market entry in 2022, SmartPay has achieved rapid growth and strong market presence through innovative payment solutions designed to meet diverse market needs.

Ayman Magdy, Co-Founder and CEO of SmartPay, emphasized that the company’s reliance on in-house technology has granted it both agility and a competitive edge. He revealed that SmartPay aims to empower more than 50,000 merchants by 2026, particularly in underserved regions such as the Delta and Upper Egypt, by enabling them to accept secure digital payments via its Point-of-Sale (POS) solutions.

Magdy added that SmartPay’s offering also includes a Merchant App, serving as a digital alternative to traditional POS systems, providing merchants with secure and flexible payment collection. On the consumer side, the SmartPay Consumer App enables bill payments, money transfers, and access to a wide range of digital payment services. For corporates, the company offers Smart Business, a dedicated platform designed to support instant collections and disbursements, digital payroll management, and seamless integration with social insurance and tax authorities.

Engineer Mohamed Saeed, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of SmartPay, stressed that the company positions itself as a Payment Technology Provider rather than a traditional fintech firm. Its ecosystem spans electronic payment gateways, digital POS systems, smart payment applications, collection and operations management platforms, and integration services with government bodies and banks.

“This advanced ecosystem reflects SmartPay’s commitment to supporting Egypt’s digital transformation journey, empowering individuals and businesses to manage their financial transactions with greater efficiency and security,” Saeed noted.

He further revealed that SmartPay plans to expand its footprint not only across Egypt but also into North African markets, capitalizing on the growing demand for secure and innovative digital payment solutions in the region.
