Eight New WE Applied Technology Schools Open, Bringing Total to 27 Nationwide

As part of the digital capacity-building strategy of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Telecom Egypt has opened eight new WE Applied Technology Schools, bringing the total to 27—one in each governorate. The new schools, set to welcome students in the 2025–26 academic year, have been inaugurated in Marsa Matrouh, Fayoum, Menoufia, Red Sea, Luxor, Aswan, Beni Suef, and North Sinai.
WE ATS offer a variety of specializations tailored to meet the demands of the digital era. Advanced curricula aligned with cutting-edge technologies are provided in the fields of telecommunications, web and software development, networking, and information security. Two new specializations—data analysis and artificial intelligence (AI), and digital arts—have been introduced, addressing evolving labor market needs and increasing employment opportunities for graduates.
This expansion is part of the ongoing cooperation protocol between MCIT and the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, aiming to build on the success of WE Schools in bridging the gap between theoretical education and actual labor market requirements.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat remarked that WE ATS represent a key pillar in the Ministry’s digital capacity-building strategy, and are established in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education. He highlighted that the continued expansion of these schools reflects MCIT’s commitment to providing distinguished educational opportunities for students nationwide.
The ICT Minister also underscored that these schools provide an integrated system combining academic education aligned with the latest tech advancements, and hands-on training to upskill students. This approach helps prepare a digital talent pool capable of meeting the requirements of the global job market.
WE ATS deliver promising practical training opportunities for students at premises of Telecom Egypt and its subsidiaries, equipping learners with the necessary hands-on experience to enter the workforce with competence upon graduation.
After completing the third academic year, WE Schools graduates are awarded a technical education diploma in applied technology, accredited by the Ministry of Education and Technical Education. This diploma qualifies them to enter local, regional, and international labor markets, as WE Schools are internationally accredited by Pearson, the world’s leading learning company.
Provided they pass the skill equivalency test, graduates may enroll in technology and industrial education colleges; IT, technical, and engineering institutes; and faculties of engineering, computer science, or AI. This is in accordance with the Supreme Council of Universities’ regulations on admission criteria for technical education certificate holders applying to national universities and institutes.
In addition, graduates receive work experience certificates from Telecom Egypt, along with specialized professional certificates from leading ICT companies.
