Majid Al Futtaim and Huawei Launch Carrefour Smartwatch App to Transform Mobile Shopping Experience

Majid Al Futtaim Retail, the exclusive operator of Carrefour in the UAE, has joined forces with global tech giant Huawei to unveil the Carrefour Smartwatch App, designed for Huawei's newly launched HUAWEI WATCH 5, powered by HarmonyOS.
The collaboration marks a significant leap in the evolution of mobile commerce, offering Carrefour customers a seamless, on-the-go retail experience through wearable technology. The smartwatch app is built to cater to increasingly mobile-first lifestyles, enabling users to access core Carrefour services directly from their wrist.
With this innovation, shoppers can now track orders in real-time, manage their SHARE loyalty points, locate nearby Carrefour branches, and receive tailored promotions and weekly deals—all without reaching for their phones.
> "With the global wearable technology market expected to more than double in the next five years, we see a compelling opportunity to reimagine how people shop, live, and connect," said Günther Helm, Chief Executive Officer at Majid Al Futtaim – Retail. "This partnership with Huawei is a key milestone in our journey to deliver smarter, more convenient, and personalized shopping experiences for a digital-first generation."
Huawei, which continues to grow its HarmonyOS ecosystem, sees the partnership as a strategic expansion of its wearable capabilities in the region.
> “By integrating Carrefour’s services into our HarmonyOS-powered wearables, we are giving users across the Middle East and Africa access to smarter, more connected daily experiences,” said William Hu, Managing Director of Huawei Consumer Business Group for the Middle East and Africa.
The Carrefour Smartwatch App is now available on the HUAWEI WATCH 5 and is set to expand to other models, including the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 and WATCH GT 4, broadening accessibility across the region.
