Egypt”s DALTEX Partners with ORTH to Integrate AI into Large-Scale Farming and Agricultural Management

Egyptian agricultural group DALTEX has partnered with ORTH to roll out artificial intelligence technology across its agricultural operations, aiming to transform farm management through unified data, predictive insights and intelligent decision-support tools.

The deployment is designed to deliver improvements in crop yields and product quality while reducing waste and field-level losses, with AI supporting agricultural engineers and operational teams across the group's activities.

AI Deployment Covers DALTEX's Integrated Agricultural Network

Established in 1964, DALTEX manages an integrated agricultural supply chain covering the entire journey from seeds to retail distribution.

The company oversees more than 54,000 acres, employs over 9,000 people and produces more than 500,000 tonnes annually of fresh crops and processed food products. Its annual exports exceed 300,000 tonnes, reaching more than 75 countries.

The integration of AI across this extensive network is intended to improve operational consistency and help the company make better use of its agricultural resources.

A Unified Platform Connects Farm Records and Agricultural Expertise

ORTH consolidates DALTEX's field records, historical crop information, irrigation and fertilization data, and agricultural knowledge into one platform.

Through natural-language interactions, agricultural engineers and field supervisors can access information and receive recommendations based on the group's own operational data.

These capabilities support decisions concerning agricultural products, application quantities and suitable timing. They also enable engineers to oversee larger farming areas and allow field teams to respond more efficiently while maintaining consistent operating standards.

Ibrahim El-Naggar, Operations Director at DALTEX, said the platform enables production teams to process substantial volumes of different data inputs simultaneously and make more informed operational decisions.

He emphasized the importance of rapid analysis and communication during challenging agricultural seasons, describing intelligent operational support as a key requirement for managing complex field activities.

Predictive AI Supports Early Risk Detection

The ORTH platform combines farm-level information with weather forecasts, satellite images, compliance data and specialized agricultural knowledge.

By analyzing these inputs, the platform seeks to identify potential risks early and recommend suitable responses before issues affect crop productivity or quality.

Proactive notifications are delivered to the relevant teams to support timely intervention and reduce the likelihood of agricultural losses.

Global Farmer Network and Reported Productivity Benefits

ORTH currently serves more than 300,000 farmers worldwide, providing capabilities related to crop nutrition, crop protection, irrigation and product quality.

The company reported that over 73% of farmers surveyed said the platform had helped them improve productivity, avoid losses and enhance crop quality.

For DALTEX, the technology is expected to support more stable production, consistent export quality, improved water and agricultural input efficiency, and lower losses throughout the journey from cultivation to shipment.

Technology Partnership Advances Sustainable Agriculture in Egypt

Hassan Fayed, Founder and CEO of ORTH, described DALTEX as an example of large-scale AI adoption in agriculture.

He highlighted the value of giving agricultural engineers and field teams a unified view of farm operations, supported by specialized insights that address productivity, quality and waste reduction.

The deployment also highlights the growing role of digital technologies in Egypt's agricultural sector, particularly in supporting water and environmental resource management, sustainable crop production, food security and export performance.

By extending ORTH across its operations, DALTEX is moving toward a more integrated and technology-driven model for managing agricultural production at scale.
