UAE’s Huru Expands via Partnerships with Paymentology and Bitpanda to Enhance Payments and Digital Assets

UAE-based fintech company Huru, licensed by the Central Bank of the UAE as a Stored Value Facilities and Retail Payment Services provider, announced two strategic agreements with Paymentology and Bitpanda on the sidelines of the Seamless Fintech Middle East 2026 conference in Dubai. These partnerships aim to expand the capabilities of Huru’s platform by introducing card payments via the local UAE network and enabling digital asset trading.

Launching the "Jaywan" Card and Promoting Financial Inclusion

Building on Huru's existing relationship with Paymentology—a specialist in card processing infrastructure for emerging markets—the first partnership involves plans to launch a Huru card on Jaywan, the UAE’s national card scheme, in the fourth quarter of 2026. This move aligns with broader efforts across GCC countries to reduce reliance on Visa and Mastercard and retain a larger share of card transaction revenue within local economies.

Huru currently manages payroll processing of up to AED 3 billion annually for more than 24,000 employers through the UAE's Wages Protection System (WPS). The company aims to issue around 1 million Universal Accounts over the next 12 months. This initiative provides expatriate workers with a portable International Bank Account Number (IBAN) that remains active when changing employers, helping bridge financial inclusion gaps.

Trading Digital Assets via the Huru App

The second agreement pairs Huru with Bitpanda Enterprise, the B2B arm of the Vienna-headquartered digital asset platform. The integration will allow Huru account holders to buy, sell, and hold digital assets directly through the app.

Brokerage services will be provided by Bitpanda Broker MENA FZCO, an entity licensed by Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA). These services operate outside Huru’s Central Bank license, adhering to regulatory frameworks in Dubai (VARA) and Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) that mandate a strict separation between licensed banking activities and virtual asset services.

Extensive Partnership Network for Money Transfers

In addition to card and digital asset services, Huru leverages nine partnerships with exchange houses. This enables the platform to offer international remittance services efficiently without requiring individual money transfer licenses for every corridor.
