Huawei Brings Digital Power and Clean Energy Expertise to Egypt’s Mining Sector at Egypt Mining Forum 2026
Huawei is set to make its first participation in the Egypt Mining Forum, bringing its expertise in digital power and clean energy technologies to Egypt’s mining sector and showcasing solutions designed to support more reliable, efficient, and sustainable mining operations.
Held under the auspices of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and hosted by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the two-day event will bring together government representatives, senior mining leaders, investors, and key stakeholders from across the sector. The forum will provide Huawei with an opportunity to engage with the mining ecosystem and introduce its technologies and capabilities to industry decision-makers.
As part of its participation, Huawei will showcase its approach to integrating digital technologies, power electronics, and renewable energy to address the evolving energy needs of industrial environments. Its solutions are designed to support reliable and resilient power infrastructure, improve energy efficiency, and enable the integration of renewable energy, with particular relevance to mining operations in remote and off-grid locations where reliable power can be challenging.
Tony Bu, CEO of Huawei Egypt Digital Power Business, will participate in the forum’s discussions, sharing Huawei Digital Power’s perspective on the role of technology in supporting the development of Egypt’s mining sector. His participation will also provide an opportunity to engage with industry stakeholders on the opportunities emerging at the intersection of energy, digitalization, and mining.
A key highlight of Huawei’s participation will be the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a strategic industry partner, establishing a framework for collaboration and exploring opportunities to apply Huawei Digital Power’s technologies across the mining sector.
The company’s participation comes as Egypt continues to advance efforts to develop its mining sector and attract investment across exploration, mineral development, and related industries. As the industry works to strengthen its infrastructure and operational capabilities, access to reliable and efficient energy is an important part of enabling mining activities, particularly across geographically dispersed and remote sites.
