AIG Taps China’s CSCEC as Main Contractor for AI Tower in Egypt’s New Capital
AIG has appointed China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) as the main contractor for its AI Tower project in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, moving the development into its execution phase.
Under the agreement, the Chinese construction group will take responsibility for the project’s main construction works, adding one of the world’s largest contractors to the team behind the technology-driven mixed-use tower.
AI Tower is planned as a 44-storey development combining commercial, administrative, medical and hospitality spaces, with artificial intelligence integrated into the building’s management and operating systems. The project is being developed through an Arab investment partnership involving AIG Misr and Al Aliaa Developments.
Located in the New Administrative Capital, the development is positioned close to the Central Business District and the Iconic Tower, placing it within one of the city’s most prominent business and investment zones.
The concept behind AI Tower extends beyond conventional real estate development. Its planned smart infrastructure is designed to use artificial intelligence across building operations, including energy management, security, maintenance and other services, with the aim of improving operational efficiency and reducing resource consumption.
Bringing CSCEC on board as the main contractor marks a significant step for the project as it shifts from planning and commercial preparation toward physical execution.
The Chinese construction giant already has a major footprint in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, most notably through its work on the Central Business District, making its involvement in AI Tower particularly relevant as the project moves into construction.
AI Tower forms part of a wider push toward technology-led real estate in Egypt’s new cities, where developers are increasingly incorporating smart building systems, artificial intelligence and energy-management technologies into large-scale commercial and mixed-use developments.
