Mogo Completes End-to-End Credit Decision Automation with Synapse Analytics in Five Months

Egyptian consumer finance provider Mogo has completed the full automation of its credit decision process through a partnership with Synapse Analytics, which provides agentic AI decision-making technology for regulated financial institutions.

Under the collaboration, Mogo's credit policies have been digitized and embedded into Synapse Analytics' platform, allowing them to be executed automatically. The company continues to own and control its credit scoring model and policy framework, with no changes to its established risk management methodology.

The solution became operational just five months after the agreement was signed. It is designed to speed up financing decisions, reduce manual processing, and help Mogo manage increasing application volumes while maintaining a smooth customer journey.

A Unified System for Credit Policy Execution

Mogo's growing business has increased the importance of making timely financing decisions while maintaining the credit standards required to protect its portfolio.

Although the company had developed an advanced risk assessment model and detailed credit policies, its scoring outputs, credit limits, and decision rules were not consistently integrated into one automated framework.

Mogo's objective was to adopt a technology solution that could execute its existing policies exactly as intended by its internal teams, rather than requiring the company to simplify or redesign its approach to accommodate the technology.

Synapse Analytics addressed this requirement by bringing Mogo's credit rules, limits, and scoring results together in a unified automated workflow. The solution also preserves the risk team's full authority over the company's credit models and policies.

Faster Processing and Greater Operational Capacity

The automated system is expected to improve the speed of credit decisions and reduce manual intervention across the decision-making process, supporting consistent application of credit rules to customer applications.

It also provides Mogo with the capacity to process more financing requests simultaneously as its business expands, without compromising its risk management framework.

Mahmoud El-Ghawas, CEO of Mogo, described the automation of the company's credit policy as a significant step toward delivering faster and more convenient financing services.

He said the collaboration enabled the company to automate its existing policy in five months and establish a scalable process that can accommodate future growth while preserving its credit standards.

Synapse Analytics on Turning Credit Policies into Strategic Assets

Ahmed Abaza, Co-Founder and CEO of Synapse Analytics, said Mogo's credit team had already built a robust policy framework and well-defined workflows before the partnership.

He explained that Synapse Analytics transformed this foundation into an intelligent decision-making system designed to evolve continuously and learn from the institution's decisions.

According to Abaza, this turns credit policy into an intellectual property asset that can increase in value over time, rather than leaving it as a static collection of rules.

He added that Synapse Analytics seeks to provide financial institutions with the intelligent capabilities and infrastructure needed to make faster and safer decisions, manage risk, pursue growth opportunities, and strengthen customer relationships.

The platform also enables institutions to benefit from advanced AI while maintaining control over sensitive data, institutional expertise, and the intelligence layer that powers their decisions.

AI Platform Offers Policy Testing and Audit Capabilities

Synapse Analytics enables risk management teams to independently create, test, and implement credit policies and rules.

Financial institutions can also evaluate proposed policy changes against historical financing application data before putting them into effect. The platform maintains complete audit trails and supports the restoration of earlier versions.

Deployment options include on-premises infrastructure as well as private, public, and sovereign cloud environments.
