MCS and Wadhwani Foundation Partner to Build Egypt’s Future Cybersecurity Workforce
Cybersecurity value-added distributor MCS has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Wadhwani Foundation to strengthen digital skills development and prepare young professionals for careers in cybersecurity and the wider technology sector.
The agreement was announced during a conference titled "Human Capital as a Key Driver of Digital Economy Growth," underscoring the growing importance of workforce development in supporting digital transformation and long-term economic growth.
The partnership aims to create an integrated talent development ecosystem by equipping young people with technical and employability skills, connecting graduates with job opportunities, and aligning education outcomes more closely with the evolving needs of the technology industry in Egypt and across the region.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Solafa Gawily, Executive Director of Egypt's National Training Academy, and Dr. Ahmed Khattab, President of the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI).
As part of the collaboration, MCS and Wadhwani Foundation will work on initiatives covering skills development, employment support, knowledge exchange and joint innovation programs. The two organizations also plan to establish a specialized cybersecurity talent hub while expanding cooperation with government agencies and industry stakeholders to support workforce development and employment initiatives.
Tarek Shabka, Chairman of MCS, said investing in people is as critical as investing in technology for the success of digital transformation.

Hend Gelgel, Regional Director of Wadhwani Foundation in Egypt, said the partnership would expand the foundation's impact by leveraging MCS's expertise and extensive relationships across the information technology sector.
She added that the collaboration would help prepare more young professionals for employment while strengthening links between private-sector demand and skills development programs.
Alongside the signing ceremony, the two organizations hosted a roundtable bringing together more than 40 representatives from government entities, private-sector companies, technology providers and workforce development specialists.
Participants highlighted the importance of human capital as the cornerstone of successful digital transformation, emphasizing that digital and professional skills have become essential for future employment and economic competitiveness.
The event also marked the graduation of the first cohort of trainees from the joint MCS–Wadhwani Foundation training program, providing an early milestone for the newly established partnership.
