Yasser Sobhi, Deputy Minister of Finance, announced that Egypt has leaped 10 points in the Global Open Budget Index for the year 2025, marking a significant milestone in the country's ongoing fiscal reform and transparency efforts.

Speaking at the "Budget Transparency" forum, organized by DCode Consulting in coordination with the International Budget Partnership (IBP), Sobhi outlined Egypt's notable advancements across several key sub-indices.

Key Achievements in the 2025 Index

Egypt's progress in the latest survey reflects widespread improvements in financial governance:

Financial Oversight: Egypt secured the 10th position globally.

Parliamentary Audit: The nation’s score climbed significantly from 53 to 61 points.

Budget Oversight: Advanced by 5 points.

Public Participation: Successfully maintained its established standing.

Sobhi emphasized that the "Open Budget Survey" directly highlights the continuous evolution, enhanced quality, and broader accessibility of Egypt's financial disclosures and public fiscal data.
