CBE: Egypt’s Tourism Revenues Hit $14.4 Billion in First 9 Months of FY 2025/2026
Tourism revenues in Egypt reached $14.4 billion during the first nine months of the fiscal year 2025/2026, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced.
According to the bank's latest Balance of Payments (BoP) report, the country's overall BoP deficit narrowed by 2.9% to reach $1.8 billion, down from approximately $1.9 billion recorded during the corresponding nine-month period of the prior fiscal year 2024/2025.
The central bank further revealed a significant increase in net inflows to the capital and financial account, which climbed to $9.9 billion during the first nine months of the current fiscal year.
This upward momentum in capital and financial inflows was primarily propelled by Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), which generated total net inflows of $13 billion. This headline figure includes $3.5 billion in investment inflows resulting from the execution of the Ras El Hekma deal.
