Novo Nordisk and Al Ain Pharmacy Group Sign MoU to Advance Obesity Awareness and Care in Al Ain
Novo Nordisk, a global healthcare leader in the treatment of chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al Ain Pharmacy Group. The agreement aims to raise awareness about obesity as a chronic disease and actively engage community members and healthcare providers in Al Ain in prevention and education efforts.
Under the umbrella of this MoU, an event titled "Live it Lighter in Al Ain" was hosted on Tuesday, June 30, at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium. The gathering brought together top-tier experts, healthcare providers, and key stakeholders in obesity management to discuss primary challenges and solutions. The discussions focused specifically on the unique needs of the Al Ain community and strategies to enhance cross-sector collaboration.
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to fostering scientific dialogue around chronic diseases and solidifying cooperation among entities involved in obesity prevention and management. These efforts are geared toward raising public awareness, advancing therapeutic practices, and ultimately improving health outcomes and the quality of life for individuals living with obesity.
The MoU also encompasses the launch of targeted patient education programs designed to empower individuals to adopt healthier lifestyles and improve their adherence to treatment plans. Furthermore, the agreement outlines the development of clear frameworks to track patients' therapeutic journeys, measure program impact, and meticulously evaluate outcomes.
As part of this collaboration, Novo Nordisk will equip Al Ain Pharmacy Group with an InBody composition analyzer for use in community events and medical programs. This technology will provide patients with a practical, data-driven baseline to kickstart their weight management journeys.
On a broader scale, Novo Nordisk and Al Ain Pharmacy Group will work together to establish an integrated, sustainable patient care model in Al Ain city, facilitating seamless collaboration among stakeholders, healthcare providers, payers, and community partners.
