Egypt Launches National AI Initiative to Equip Government Leaders with Advanced Digital Skills
Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in partnership with the National Training Academy (NTA), has launched the Artificial Intelligence for Government Organization Leaders National Initiative, aimed at equipping senior government officials with advanced digital leadership capabilities and accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence across the public sector.
The initiative, unveiled in the presence of senior officials from both institutions, supports the objectives of Egypt’s National AI Strategy 2025–2030, which seeks to build an integrated digital society capable of leveraging advanced technologies to drive socioeconomic development and strengthen the country’s global competitiveness in technology and artificial intelligence.
Designed specifically for leaders of government entities, the program seeks to enhance participants’ ability to navigate rapid technological changes and adopt emerging digital technologies while promoting the ethical and responsible use of AI in institutional operations and public service delivery.
The initiative also aims to strengthen national capabilities in data governance, improve institutional efficiency, and expand AI-related skills and expertise across government organizations. By doing so, it seeks to foster innovative operating models and establish a resilient digital ecosystem aligned with international standards and best practices.
Participants will undergo a comprehensive learning experience combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications in areas including strategic leadership, generative AI, agentic AI, and digital twins. The program also focuses on promoting the safe and responsible use of intelligent digital systems in the workplace.
In addition, the initiative seeks to deepen understanding of the legal and ethical dimensions surrounding AI technologies while enhancing capabilities in cybersecurity, data protection, and data governance in the era of artificial intelligence.
The program includes pre- and post-training assessments, practical exercises, and graduation projects designed to help participants apply AI-powered solutions to improve institutional performance, optimize business processes, and enhance the quality of government services.
The launch reflects the growing strategic partnership between MCIT and the National Training Academy and builds on the success of previous joint programs, most notably the Digital Egypt Leaders National Initiative, which has contributed to developing a new generation of leaders capable of driving institutional transformation and supporting Egypt’s vision of building a secure, productive, and sustainable digital society.
