Egypt’s Egrobots Unveils the Region’s First Autonomous AI-Powered Harvesting Robot
Egrobots, a pioneer in Egyptian deep-tech and robotics, has officially launched the first-ever Egyptian-developed autonomous harvesting robot. This milestone marks a significant leap for the MENA region’s robotics sector, showcasing advanced capabilities in Computer Vision, Physical AI, and autonomous navigation. Designed to identify ripe produce and navigate complex farm terrains without human intervention, the robot represents a strategic shift toward fully autonomous agriculture in Egypt.
Boasting a modular design, the robot can be equipped with up to four synchronized robotic arms, achieving a productivity rate of 160 kg per hour. Akhlad Al-Abhar, Co-founder and CEO of Egrobots, stated: “This launch is a pivotal step toward a future where intelligent systems are a cornerstone of regional agricultural infrastructure.” As a graduate of the Google for Startups and a member of the NVIDIA Inception program, Egrobots is positioning Egypt as a formidable player in the global DeepTech landscape.
