Egypt Secures 9th Place Globally in Freelancing as MCIT Graduates 156,000 Digital Talents in 2025
Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Raafat Hindy, presided over the graduation ceremony of the 2025 cohorts of the "Digital Egypt Generations" initiative. The program has successfully trained over 156,000 participants in a single year, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 277,000 since its inception. This massive influx of skilled labor has propelled Egypt to the 9th position globally in the freelance market, with over 850,000 independent professionals now operating from the country.
During the ceremony at Cairo University, Eng. Hindy highlighted the initiative's remarkable success in the labor market, noting that employment rates across most tracks have exceeded 85%, reaching 100% for several specialized cohorts. The "Digital Egypt Generations" framework focuses on high-demand sectors, including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Fintech. By bridging the gap between academic knowledge and global market requirements, Egypt is effectively transitioning from a local service provider to a major competitor in the international digital economy.
