Egypt Consolidates Global Outsourcing Status: ICT Minister Discusses Expansion and Cloud Sovereignty with SAP EMEA President
Eng. Raafat Hindy, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, met with Ms. Augusta Spinelli, President of SAP EMEA, to discuss scaling the global tech giant's investments and outsourcing operations in Egypt. The high-level meeting focused on fostering a robust digital ecosystem that aligns with Egypt’s "Digital Sovereignty" goals, ensuring secure and localized cloud computing solutions integrated with advanced AI capabilities.
Minister Hindy emphasized the government’s commitment to positioning Egypt as a premier international hub for cross-border IT services. Key discussions included a strategic partnership to bridge the talent gap through specialized digital capacity-building programs. By equipping Egyptian youth with SAP-specific technical skills, the initiative aims to provide a highly specialized workforce ready to support SAP’s global and regional expansion. Both parties also explored conducting a comprehensive study on the evolving labor market requirements for SAP-driven technological solutions.
