Egypt Allocates 410 MHz of New Spectrum to Expand 5G Networks, Says ICT Minister
Raafat Hindi, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, said the government has made an additional 410 MHz of spectrum available to the country’s four mobile operators to support the expansion of fifth-generation (5G) networks.
The move is part of broader efforts by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Egypt to upgrade the country’s digital infrastructure and improve the quality of telecommunications services.
Hindi added that the ministry is also working to increase the number of mobile towers to reach global coverage standards, while continuing the rollout of fiber-optic cables in villages under the Decent Life Initiative.
In addition, Egypt is expanding the development of data centers to strengthen its position as a regional hub for data and digital infrastructure.
