Egypt’s ICT Minister Outlines Five Key Pillars to Strengthen the Digital Economy

Raafat Hindi, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, said the ministry’s strategy for the coming period will focus on five key pillars aimed at strengthening the country’s digital economy.

The strategy includes developing digital infrastructure, accelerating digital transformation, creating an investment-friendly business environment, adopting advanced technologies—particularly artificial intelligence—and investing in human capital development.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the annual Suhoor event organized by the Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications, the minister noted that the ministry’s vision is centered on leveraging technology as a primary driver of economic and social growth.

He added that these efforts aim to support Egypt’s transition toward a comprehensive and sustainable digital economy, while creating broader opportunities to improve citizens’ quality of life.
